When to go to Zante: Peak season in Zante is July – August, but clubs and events are open from June-September. So if you’re looking to save some money, try June or September for your Zante clubbing holiday 2020. If you’re in need of unleashing your inner Greek party god then you need to get to Zante in JUNE when the season starts, after all, the sooner your summer begins the better and on top of that you’ll get a cheaper price! Zante’s peak party months are JULY and AUGUST. So, if you can wait that long then book your flight over to the Greek island for the wildest getaway of your 2020 filled with boat parties, famous acts and the coolest clubs in Zante. The season ends in September but the sun will continue to shine and this party destination will remain just as entertaining for the lads and girls wanting a slightly more relaxing holiday or even a week of recovery.
Health and Safety: Before you head off, make sure you have adequate travel and medical insurance. Although it’s not a substitute for insurance, it is also a good idea to get yourself a free European Health Insurance card (EHIC) before you head out to Greece. Worth noting that the EHIC will not cover you if you require ongoing medical treatment, so if you take medication long term, be sure to bring enough with you for the duration of your holiday.
Passports and Visas: You won’t need a visa to travel to the Greek island of Zante, but you will need a valid British/European passport. Make sure that your passport is valid before you leave, and will remain valid for the duration of your stay.
Healthcare: The Islands hospital is a ten minute drive from Laganas, and there are a number of other medical centres scattered across the Island. Lassist medical surgery is located on the main strip, so you’ll always have medical help if needed. There is also a chemist (located opposite McDonalds) should you need to buy any other medical supplies. In case of emergencies, dial 112, the Island’s emergency helpline, for an ambulance.
Police and Security: There is a police station in Laganas, located just off of the main strip. Should you have any enquiries or need police assistance during your stay, you can call +302 6950 51251, 52022. There is also a tourist police department in Zakynthos +302 6950 27367. A lot of the hotels employ their own security staff in Laganas, so you can feel safe wherever you go. In cases of emergency, dial 112, to be put through to the emergency services.
ATMs: You will find a number of ATMs in Zante, but before you use them, be sure to check with your bank how much they will charge you to withdraw, as most ATMs will charge you a transaction fee as well. A number of clubs, bars and restaurants allow you to pay by card, however not everywhere will, so be sure to have a combination of cash and card. You can also use prepaid currency cards when you stay, which allow you to top up an amount before you leave, and budget your spending.
