About Tenerife
Tenerife is one of the biggest and most iconic party destinations in the Canaries.
The nightlife is loud, late, chaotic and full of energy – exactly what your groups want.
Most of the action happens in:
Playa de las Américas (Veronicas Strip)
This is your iconic strip you expect on a party holiday. Neon bars, clubs, PRs, cheap drink deals, karaoke bars, rooftop terraces — everything happens here.
The Patch & Starco
More bars, more clubs, more carnage. Perfect for a bar crawl before heading to the big clubs.
Papagayo Beach Club
Day-to-night beach club vibes. Stunning for sunsets and the perfect pre-night-out warm up.
Boat Parties in Costa Adeje
Expect DJs, swim stops, and the usual boat party chaos that becomes the highlight of the week.
If you want a holiday with sun all day + madness all night, Tenerife hits every time.
Tenerife South Airport (TFS) is only 15–20 minutes from Playa de las Américas, so you’ll be starting the holiday very quickly.
You’ve got a few options:
Private transfers
Best option for groups. Cheap when split between everyone and drops you directly at your hotel or apartment.
Shared shuttles
Budget-friendly but slower because they stop at multiple hotels.
Taxis
Quick and easy. Usually around €25–€35 depending on time of day.
Buses
The No.40 and No.711 buses run from the airport to Playa de las Américas and take about 35–40 minutes.
Best option for party holidays?
Private transfer every time.
No waiting around, no stress, and you can split the cost with people you meet on the plane or at the airport.
Straight from the airport to the pool or first bar.
Tenerife is one of the safest party destinations in Europe, but there are a few things to keep in mind.
Veronicas Strip gets busy late at night
Expect crowds, music and a lot of drunk holidaymakers who can get rowdy so be cautious.
Pickpockets occasionally operate in crowded areas
Keep your phone secure and turn on Find My iPhone just in case.
Don’t leave bags on the beach
Especially at night.
Street sellers
You’ll see people selling sunglasses, drinks and random items. Just ignore and keep walking.
Stick with your group
The nightlife can get messy late at night so stay together. Apps like Life360 are great for keeping track of each other.
Follow the basic rules and you’ll be absolutely fine.
No.
Unlike destinations like Ibiza, Barcelona or Mallorca, Tenerife currently does not charge a tourist tax for staying in hotels or apartments.
So when you check in, there’s nothing extra to pay.
One less thing to worry about.
Alongside your normal holiday bits:
- EU plug adapters (not UK plugs!)
- Beach shoes if you’re hitting the rocky coves, I don’t think the Primark sandals will be your best friend for this one
- Portable/Hand held fan – Spain hits 30°C+ easy and you don’t want to waste your time getting all fresh and ready to head out to be hit with unbearable sweat in places you didn’t realise you could even sweat
- Mini first aid bits for nightlife-related injuries, there will be pharmacies and doctors available but it’s usually more expensive in destination so make sure you are a little prepared to save some extra money
- Spare outfits (nights get messy)
- Cross-body bag for nights on The Strip, keep that phone out of your back pocket and instead zipped away in a trusty bag
- A hoodie/light layer – evenings can get breezy out of peak season and there is nothing worse than being chilly on your holiday
- Bug spray + plug-ins
Tenerife is pretty affordable compared to Ibiza or Malta.
A rough guide:
€40–€70 per day
Depending on your drinking habits.
Typical prices:
Pints: €2–€5
Cocktails: €6–€10
Shots: €1–€3 in some bars
Club entry: often free or small fee
Taxis around the resort: €6–€12
Party Hard Tip
Prebook your boat parties and big events so your daily spending money is just for food, drinks and taxis.
Tenerife runs on holiday time.
Bars usually stay open until 2–4am
Clubs go until 5–6am
Veronicas Strip starts filling up around 10–11pm
Peak time = midnight to 3am
If you’re looking for a quiet night…
Tenerife might not be the place.
Just a few simple ones to keep the week stress-free.
Public behaviour laws exist
Police will step in if things get too rowdy.
Balcony rules are strict
Jumping between balconies or into pools can get you kicked out of hotels.
Noise rules apply in hotels and apartments
Don’t buy random drinks from street sellers
Stick to proper bars and clubs.
Behave just enough to stay out of trouble and the week will be elite.
